Access Restrictions: Off campus use of the electronic resources is restricted to Ramapo College students, faculty, and staff. You will need to use your Ramapo email address ex:jsmith@ramapo.edu to register.

Once registered, faculty/staff have 4 years of full account access, after which they must re-authenticate by visiting accessnyt.com. Students have access until 12/31 of the graduation year they choose.

Setting up your account

NEW subscribers

  1. Visit accessnyt.com to create an account.
  2. Type in Ramapo College of NJ and follow the instructions.
  3. Click on the "Create Account" button and enter your ramapo email address. ex: jsmith@ramapo.edu
  4. Click "Continue."
  5. Check your Ramapo email. Look for the message, Confirm Your Email Address, which should arrive within 15 minutes.
  6. Click on the link in the confirmation email. This will simultaneously verify your eligibility and grant your Academic Pass, which will provide access to NYTimes.com for 1 year.
  7. If you don't get the confirmation email, check your spam folder. If you still do not receive it, send an email from your Ramapo email account to edu@nytimes.com

EXISTING registered subscribers with ACTIVE PAID NYT subscription

  1. If you have an active paid subscription, you will first need to cancel your personal subscription. You can do this by connecting with a chat agent on the site or calling 800-698-4637.
  2. After you cancel your paid account, you can follow the directions below to claim your complimentary subscription.

EXISTING registered subscribers that DO NOT HAVE ACTIVE NYT subscription

  1. Visit accessnyt.com to create an account.
  2. Click on "Already have an account "Log In" (Found below "Create An Account").
  3. Input your email address and the same password created for your previous account.
  4. If you encounter any error messages, please email edu@nytimes.com.

Smartphone Apps

Your Academic Pass includes access to The New York Times via the NYTimes smartphone apps. To download your smartphone app, visit: nytimes.com/mobile.

Once you have registered and selected your Academic Pass, you can then access nytimes.com from anywhere at any time during the life of that pass from most web capable devices*.

If the reserve item is not available electronically, please write down the call number and give it to the Circulation staff so they can retrieve the item for you.
